Idan Steinberg
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiology
Current Research and Scholarly Interests My current research is focused on developing non-ionizing and low cost medical technologies that reliably detect diagnose and monitor disease progression. I work at the interface of between Photonics, Acoustics, RF, Molecular Imaging, Medical Imaging and Biomedical Signal processing. Equal emphasis is on translating these technologies for pre-clinical and clinical applications in cancer and neurological diseases.

Uday Kumar Sukumar
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiology
Current Research and Scholarly Interests I strongly believe that the toughest challenges on the face of the earth is often addressed by the strengths of inter-disciplinary science. In sight of such promises, I specialized in the field of biotechnology and nanotechnology and thrive on research at the crossroads of these two emerging fields of science. Over the course of my research, I have learnt diverse techniques and procedures of diagnostic and therapeutic nanomaterial synthesis, characterization and bioevaluation (invitro & invivo).

Rogier van der Sluijs
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiology
Bio I am a postdoc at the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine & Imaging (AIMI) at Stanford University. As a medical doctor, epidemiologist, and scientist, my aim is to optimize healthcare through predictive modeling with a focus on deep learning in medical imaging.
Prior to joining AIMI, I obtained a PhD at the Department of Trauma Surgery at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. During my PhD, I developed mobile and desktop applications with integrated machine learning models (the Trauma Triage App) to aid field triage of trauma patients on the scene of injury. In addition, I worked on various deep learning projects, including fracture detection, localization, and classification, semantic segmentation of videos from robot-assisted surgery, and NLP-related projects. -
Emmanuelle Weber
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiological Sciences Laboratory
Bio Dr. Emmanuelle Weber is a physicist that obtained a Ph.D. focused on the development and applications of the Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) method. She allied NMR and EPR spectroscopy studies in her research and recently joined Dr. McNab?s group to work on diffusion MRI.

Bio ACADEMIC FOCUS
? Cardiac anatomy and microstructure using histology and diffusion tensor MRI, and the structural underpinning of cardiac function.
? Ex vivo cardiac MRI, confocal microscopy, image analysis, preclinical models of cardiovascular disease, cardiac Langendorff preparations.
? Previously researched novel measures of diastolic function using echocardiography, and on the development of anti-thrombin nanoparticles for site-specific anticoagulation without increasing bleeding risk.
? Other interests include: analytics and optimization, having completed his Masters of Operations Research with a thesis titled "Optimal Electricity Distribution Tariff Design"
? Skills include: animal handling and surgery, MRI scanning, preclinical echocardiography, signal and image processing, programming and teaching.
2020 WORK
? Investigated the relationship between cardiomyocyte branching and cellular location using extended volume confocal microscopy [Ref 1]
? Examined the diastolic pressure-volume relationship using both MRI and ex vivo techniques (Virtual Physiological Human Conference Abstract)
? The use of ACE inhibitors alters the myocardial collagen organization, reducing deposition between sheetlets [Ref 2]
? Published methods chapter detailing the formulation of anti-thrombin PFC nanoparticles [Ref 3] -
Yannan Yu
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiology
Current Research and Scholarly Interests My research focuses on improving acute ischemic stroke care by applying the latest deep learning algorithm on clinical routine imaging and patient clinical data. This includes:
1) more precise prediction of the final stroke lesion from the baseline MR or CT images. This prediction will enable physicians to better select patients for reperfusion therapy.
2) prediction penumbra using non-contrast enhanced MRI.
3) Automatic detection of artery occlusion and mTICI classification on DSA image. -
Yuyin Zhou
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Radiology
Bio Yuyin Zhou is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford. Her research interests span the fields of medical image computing, computer vision, and machine learning, especially the intersection of them. Yuyin received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, advised by Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Alan Yuille. Her project with Johns Hopkins Medicine on organ segmentation has been featured on National Public Radio. Yuyin has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers including top-tier venues such as CVPR, ICCV, AAAI, MICCAI, TMI, and MedIA, and was the runner-up in MICCAI 2018 - Computational Precision Medicine: Pancreatic Cancer Survival Prediction Challenge. She also interned at Google Cloud AI and Google Brain.
