Current Research and Scholarly Interests

My clinical and research training specifically focuses on characterizing distinct trajectories in abdominal (visceral) fat, and lean mass during aging, and how these changes in whole body and regional soft tissue composites relate to metabolic and cardiovascular (CV) disease risk in older adults.
I also examine how changes in muscle quality, contributing to sarcopenia prognosis, is related to physical functioning, mobility disability and CV disease risk in older adults.
