Bio
Dr. Kevin Mintz is a Social Science Research Scholar at the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. His research focuses on disability bioethics and its intersection with the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications of Genetics and Genomics (ELSI), as well as of emerging medical technologies. Born with cerebral palsy, Dr. Mintz's interest in disability is both academic and personal. Dr. Mintz won the inaugural 2023 Anita Silvers Essay Prize from The Society of Philosophy and Disability. His work has appeared in both academic publications and popular venues including Genetics in Medicine, the American Journal of Bioethics, the Hastings Center Report, and the Los Angeles Times.
He is also the first individual with his level of disability to be trained at both the NIH Department of Bioethics and the Stanford School of Medicine.
