Muhammad Asim
Postdoctoral Scholar, Psychiatry
Research Interests
I am interested in investigating the cell type-specific and neural circuit mechanisms underlying emotional disorders. In particular, I strive to explore the neural mechanisms associated with psychedelic drugs, focusing on how these substances improve mood and exhibit antidepressant-like effects.

Cara Bohon
Clinical Associate Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Development
Research Interests
My research interests have focused on the neural bases of eating disorders. I am particularly interested in the way emotion and reward is processed in the brain and how that may contribute to eating behavior and food restriction. I hope to eventually translate biological research findings into treatments.

Gary Glover
Professor of Radiology (Radiological Sciences Lab) and, by courtesy, of Psychology and of Electrical Engineering
Research Interests
My present research is devoted to the advancement of functional magnetic resonance imaging sciences for applications in basic understanding of the brain in health and disease. We collaborate closely with departmental clinicians and with others in the school of medicine, humanities, and the engineering sciences.

John Huguenard
Professor of Neurology and Neurological Sciences (Neurology Research), of Neurosurgery (Adult Neurosurgery) and, by courtesy, of Molecular and Cellular Physiology
Research Interests
We are interested in the neuronal mechanisms that underlie synchronous oscillatory activity in the thalamus, cortex and the massively interconnected thalamocortical system. Such oscillations are related to cognitive processes, normal sleep activities and certain forms of epilepsy. Our approach is an analysis of the discrete components (cells, synapses, microcircuits) that make up thalamic and cortical circuits, and reconstitution of components into in silico computational networks.
