Dr. Abrams' research is focused on elucidating the pathobiology behind tendinoapthy and developing new treatment modalities for the disease. My research has focused on the medical complications of adolescents with eating disorders. My specific area of study has been the etiology and implications of amenorrhea in adolescents with eating disorders, in particular the management of reduced bone mass and osteoporosis in anorexia nervosa.

My research has focused on understanding and reducing health risk behaviors such as tobacco use, alcohol and marijuana use, risky driving, and risky sexual behavior.
