Dr. Clarke completed his MD and PhD at Stanford School of Medicine, where he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Gilliam Fellow. He completed residency training at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital where he won the Boston Children's Hospital House Staff Research Award. He next returned to Stanford to complete his cardiology fellowship, and he was elected Chief Cardiology Fellow. He is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, and his clinical focus is preventive cardiology, lipidology, and familial hypercholesterolemia. His research focuses on the the genetics of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease risk.
