Dr. Joseph designs and conducts quantitative research studies on population health and quality of care using large-scale healthcare data sources, including electronic health records, national cancer registry, and Medicare claims data. Her research includes studying the impact of clinical guidelines on quality of care, and racial/ethnic disparities in healthcare utilization, disease management, and clinical outcomes for cancer and diabetes patient populations. Her current research in Dr. Hernandez-Boussard's lab focuses on post-operative pain care and studying predictors of opioid abuse in different patient populations.
