Bio Dr. Crystal is a board certified, Stanford trained Ob/Gyn physician entrepreneur with interests in healthcare innovation and human centered design.
Dr. Crystal has worked with over a dozen healthcare start ups advising them on business development, social media strategy, product development and discovery of the unmet needs of physicians and patients. In addition, as a mentor for incubators including Stanford Start X, Philips Healthworks and for Backstage Capital, Dr. Crystal has coached companies in AI and digital health, medical devices and biotech. At StartX, Dr. Crystal has been a neighborhood lead for biotechnology, digital IT and product strategy and customer development. She is also helping female founders with networking and mentorship.
Dr. Crystal is a thought leader on healthcare innovation and has over 10,000 followers on Twitter at @CatchTheBaby. She has been a clinical instructor at Healthcare Design classes at the Stanford d.school every since 2013.
Recently, Dr. Crystal made an online handbook on Coronavirus (COVID19) in which she has crowd sourced pertinent information from doctors around the world via the handbook, a WhatsApp group and a Slack group with 1000 doctors from many different countries who are helping each other to fight this new disease. -

Bio Gary L. Darmstadt, MD, MS, is Associate Dean for Maternal and Child Health, and Professor of Neonatal and Developmental Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Previously Dr. Darmstadt was Senior Fellow in the Global Development Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), where he led a cross-foundation initiative on Women, Girls and Gender, assessing how addressing gender inequalities and empowering women and girls leads to improved gender equality as well as improved health and development outcomes. Prior to this role, he served as BMGF Director of Family Health, leading strategy development and implementation across nutrition, family planning and maternal, newborn and child health.
Darmstadt was formerly Associate Professor and Founding Director of the International Center for Advancing Neonatal Health in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has trained in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University, in Dermatology at Stanford University, and in Pediatric Infectious Disease as a fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle, where he was Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine. Dr. Darmstadt left the University of Washington to serve as Senior Research Advisor for the Saving Newborn Lives program of Save the Children-US, where he led the development and implementation of the global research strategy for newborn health and survival, before joining Johns Hopkins. -

Current Research and Scholarly Interests Our research is in reproductive endocrinology and reproductive genomics. It focuses on human endometrial biology as it relates to basic biological mechanisms underlying steroid hormone action in this tissue, normal and abnormal placenta-decidua interactions, mechanisms underlying placentation and abnormal fetal growth, endometrial stem cells, and functional genomics for diagnostics and therapeutics of endometrial disorders. We also study mechanisms underlying ovarian follicle steroidogenesis.

Bio Dr. Sally Greenwald is passionate about empowering her patients with information, providing them with accessible and honest counsel, and encouraging them to value their health and be their best selves.
Her areas of medical interest and specialty include partnering with adolescents to define a positive sense of reproductive health, preconception counseling, surgical management of benign gynecologic conditions, and supporting pregnancy as a natural process. She?s excited to care for the women of the community that raised her.
Outside of work, she enjoys playing with her baby boy (Arnie), traveling with her husband (Dan), cooking, and hiking The Dish. -

Georgios E. Hilaris

Bio Georgios "George" Hilaris MD is a Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive gynecologic surgery specialist.
He received his residency training at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles and RUSH Medical College in Chicago and his fellowship training at Stanford University in Palo Alto.
In his home country Greece, he is considered an innovator in both Laparoscopic/Robotic Gynecologic Surgery as well as in Gynecologic Oncology.
Some of his pioneering work include the first in Greece laparoscopic radical hysterectomy with systematic pelvic and paraaortic lymph node dissection in 2004, robotic-assisted surgical staging for endometrial cancer in 2009 and recently robotic assisted surgical staging for advanced stage ovarian cancer in 2018. He has also published the first case series of Laparoscopic staging of early stage cervical and endometrial cancers in Greece in 2008.
He is Adjunct Faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine, since 2007.
Currently he is the Director and Head of the 2nd Department of Gynecologic Oncology in Hygeia Hospital, the largest private medical center, in Athens Greece -
Paula Hillard

Bio Paula J. Adams Hillard, M.D., is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine where she serves as Associate Chair for Medical Student Education. She earned a B.S. in Zoology from the University of North Carolina and obtained her M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in OB/Gyn at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was on the faculty at the University of Virginia, and served as Professor in the Departments of OB/Gyn and Pediatrics at the Cincinnati Children?s Hospital (CCHMC) /University of Cincinnati Medical Center for 23 years. At CCHMC she was the founder of a postgraduate fellowship training program in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She currently directs the program in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at the Lucile Packard Children?s Hospital at Stanford.
She has been active on a number of national medical committees, including chair of the American College Obstetricians and Gynecologists' (ACOG) Committees on Patient Education, Adolescent Health, and Guidelines for Women?s Health; she is a past member of the Gynecologic Practice Committee, the Gynecology Document Review Committee, and the Ethics Committee. She was been an examiner for the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists from 1991-2015. She is a Board Member of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and was elected a fellow of the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society. She is a past president of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and is an active contributor to the literature in adolescent gynecology and contraception with over 200 journal articles and abstracts published. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She is the sole editor of two textbooks: the 5-Minute Consult in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2008) and Practical Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (2013). She is the author of over 120 book chapters on women?s health. She has been a consultant and a member of tasks forces and committees for the CDC, the U.S. FDA, the NICHD, the AMA, American Cancer Society, and ACOG. In addition to her work as a member of editorial boards and as an ad hoc reviewer for professional publications, Dr. Hillard has extensive experience with the consumer press. She was a contributing editor to Parents magazine from 1982-1990, writing a monthly column on pregnancy and birth--and currently acts as an editorial consultant to women?s publications such as Good Housekeeping, Family Circle, Woman?s Day, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Glamour, YM, and Seventeen, as well as ABC News. She is a consultant to and a member of the medical advisory board of Clue, a menstrual cycle tracking app. She has been recognized for her teaching, and has been selected as one of 18 senior faculty master teachers/mentors for medical students at the Stanford University School of Medicine in a formal mentoring program called Educators for CARE: Compassion, Advocacy, Responsibility, and Empathy. -
