    Bio Dr. Kraler is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training in vascular neurology, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kraler is also the Associate Program Director for the Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Stanford.

    Before joining the faculty at Stanford, Dr. Kraler attended medical school at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society. She completed her residency training at Stanford Hospital where she served as chief resident, followed by her Vascular Neurology fellowship training at Stanford. She then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Stanford University?s Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC) focused on addressing the high cost of care in US Hospitals.

    Her research interests include improving access and quality of population health and developing high-value innovations in care delivery that decrease the cost of care while improving the quality to patients. In addition, she has a strong interest in medical education. Dr. Kraler has received recognition for outstanding medical student teaching from the Department of Neurology.

    Bio Dr. Kratter is a fellowship-trained psychiatrist and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is also director of Invasive Technologies in the Stanford Brain Stimulation Laboratory.

    His clinical interests include depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, sleep disorders, adult autism spectrum disorder, Huntington?s disease, and neuropsychiatric predictors of outcomes following deep brain stimulation for Parkinson?s disease.

    His research interests include deep brain stimulation and neuroimaging. He is a co-investigator of a study of deep brain stimulation for obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is also a co-investigator of a study exploring the use of individualized neuroimaging biomarkers to predict OCD patients? response to repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). This therapy is a noninvasive form of brain stimulation that uses a magnet to stimulate targeted areas of the brain. Both studies are supported by the Foundation for OCD Research

    Dr. Kratter has published articles on topics such as deep brain stimulation for Parkinson?s disease and gene-targeting therapy for Huntington disease. His work has appeared in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, and American Journal of Human Genetics. He also co-authored the chapter on major depression in the textbook Deep Brain Stimulation: Techniques and Practice.

    Dr. Kratter has presented his work at the annual meetings of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, Hereditary Disease Foundation, and Society for Neuroscience. Topics include cognitive changes following deep brain stimulation for Parkinson?s disease, antipsychotic-induced thrombocytopenia, and mediators of pathology in Huntington?s disease.

    For his scholarship and research achievements, Dr. Kratter has won numerous honors. They include the Miller Foundation Award for Psychiatric Research. He also won the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

    He is or has been a member of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine, and Society for Neuroscience.

    Bio Dr. Emily Kraus is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford Children?s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center. She specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) sports medicine and takes a unique approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sports injuries in athletes of all ages. She is involved in multiple Stanford IRB-approved research projects, including The Healthy Runner Project, a multicenter prospective interventional study focused on bone stress injury prevention in collegiate middle and long distance runners.

    Dr. Kraus also spends time performing gait analysis at the Stanford Run Safe Injury Prevention Program and serves as a medical advisors for the Adaptive Sports Injury Prevention Program at the Palo Alto VA. She has research and clinical interests in endurance sports medicine, injury prevention, running biomechanics, the prevention of bone stress injuries in collegiate athletes and the promotion of health and wellness at any age of life.

    She has completed seven marathons including Boston Marathon twice and one 50k ultramarathon. With running and staying physically active as one of her personal passions, she recognizes the importance of fitness for overall wellbeing and the prevention of chronic medical conditions.

    Bio Dr. Krishnamohan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist. He is a clinical assistant professor of neurology and neurological sciences and, by courtesy, of neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. In addition, he is Medical Director of the Neurosciences Service Line at Stanford Health Care ? ValleyCare and is Medical Director of its Stroke program.

    Dr. Krishnamohan excels in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions. His clinical interests include the management of stroke, epilepsy, concussion, and coma. With every patient, his goal is to provide personalized care designed to optimize neurological function for the best possible clinical outcome and quality of life.

    He has published extensively on topics including innovations in stroke care quality management and measurement, rapid bedside evaluation of seizures in the ICU, and EEG metrics in comatose cardiac arrest patients. Articles by Dr. Krishnamohan have appeared in Neuroanesthesia and Neurocritical Care, Quality Management in Healthcare, Current Infectious Disease Reports, and other journals. He has presented his research findings at the annual meetings of the Neurocritical Care Society and American Academy of Neurology.
    He has authored chapters on post-concussive syndrome, stroke, and other conditions for the guidebook Ferri?s Clinical Advisor. In addition, he is a reviewer for the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, Neurohospitalist, and the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry.

    Dr. Krishnamohan has won recognition from Stanford Health Care, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School, the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research ? the latter two his alma maters.

    Dr. Krishnamohan is a member of the Neurocritical Care Society, American Academy of Neurology, and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. He volunteers as a community health educator with numerous organizations.

    Bio Sara M. Krzyzaniak, MD FACEP is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She joined the Stanford University family after 8 years at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria where she served in multiple education roles including EM Clerkship Director and Residency Assistant/Associate Program Director. While in these roles she received several awards recognizing her excellence in teaching and education including "Mentor of the year", "Teacher of the year", and "Outstanding Junior Faculty". She was also recognized nationally by the American College of Emergency Physicians with the "National Emergency Medicine Junior Faculty Teaching Award".

    Dr. Krzyzaniak's scholarly work has included curriculum development for pediatric stabilization and resuscitation for low-middle income countries, development and implementation of an augmented reality application for pediatric code cart instruction, and best practices in social media for physicians. Presently her scholarly work focuses on the remediation of struggling learners and gender issues in academic medicine. She has also been a course director for Residents as Teachers curriculum as well as an Intern Preparatory Course for medical students.

    Beyond her scholarly endeavors and residency leadership roles, Dr. Krzyzaniak also serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the national faculty development program Faculty Incubator which is supported by the medical education startup Academic Life in Emergency Medicine.

    Current Research and Scholarly Interests Akash is passionate about taking advances in genomics and applying them for patient care. After training in Chemical and Bioengineering at the University of Minnesota and Stanford University he started the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Washington and obtained a PhD in Genome Sciences. With his thesis advisor, Jay Shendure, Akash used next generation sequencing technologies to characterize the development and evolution of prostate cancer and glioblastoma. He also designed and implemented new methods using next-generation sequencing with applications for cancer genetics and prenatal genetic testing. He has published six first-author publications in journals including Nature Medicine, PNAS and Genome Medicine and is a co-inventor on one licensed patent. As a medical geneticist, Akash believes that the best approach to improve outcomes for children with complex congenital medical conditions stems from earlier diagnosis and intervention. To that effect, his current research goals are 1) to develop new genomic methods that identify children at risk for complex congenital diseases earlier, 2) to understand the molecular mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disease in children that may serve as potential avenues for treatment and 3) to improve access and implementation of genomics more broadly in the clinic.

    Bio Andre Kumar earned his MD degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Stanford University. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Stanford Division of Hospital Medicine.

    Dr. Kumar currently serves as co-president of the Society of Hospital Medicine Bay Area Chapter and is the director of the medicine consult service. His professional interests include point-of-care ultrasound and medical education. He recently completed a randomized trial investigating how to optimally train residents with ultrasound and its impact on patient care (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04021693).     Dr. Kumar is passionate about medical education and how to improve physician training. He earned a Master's in Education from Stanford University (2019) and is a 2019-2020 fellow for the Rathmann Medical Education Fellowship. His educational interests include educational technology, curriculum design, and leveraging educational outcomes research to improve curricula. As a resident, he developed the Stanford Hospitalist Advanced Practice and Education (SHAPE) Program, which was the first resident-run hospitalist training track in the country. He currently serves as the director for the SHAPE Program, as well as co-director for the Advanced Clinical Skills course in the Stanford School of Medicine.

    Current Research and Scholarly Interests My main interest is in understanding the biology of human neoplasms, using traditional histopathology, molecular genetic techniques, and other modalities. In particular, I am interested in soft tissue and genitourinary neoplasms, especially prostate cancer.

    I am also interested in the classification and nomenclature of neoplasms and in practical research that helps us refine these, using a variety of techniques but still principally guided by histopathology.

    I also work on developing next generation sequencing-based tests for genotyping tumors and in expanding the scope of this testing with the goal of identifying patients eligible for novel targeting therapies.

We use primary organoid cultures of diverse tissues and tumor biopsies for immunotherapy modeling, oncogene functional screening and stem cell biology. Angiogenesis projects include blood-brain barrier regulation, stroke therapeutics and anti-angiogenic cancer therapy. ISC projects apply organoid culture and ko mice to injury-inducible vs homeostatic stem cells and symmetric division mechanisms.

    Bio Andrea Kussman, MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine. She is faculty in the Department of Orthopaedics, where she specializes in the non-surgical treatment of orthopedic injuries, management of medical issues in athletes, and Primary Care.

    Dr. Kussman earned her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed her Family Medicine Residency at UCLA. After residency she was selected to be the Chief Resident at UCLA. Dr. Kussman then completed her Sports Medicine Fellowship at UCLA, where she served as a Team Physician for UCLA Intercollegiate Athletics and for Santa Monica High School.

    Dr. Kussman cares for Stanford University athletes at the Lacob Family Sports Medicine Clinic in the Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation, and is the Head Team Physician for Stanford University Women's Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Lacrosse, Softball, Synchronized Swimming, Men's Crew, Women's Crew, and Lightweight Crew. Dr. Kussman also enjoys caring for members of the community at her Redwood City Orthopaedic Clinic, where she sees patients of all ages. From weekend warriors to competitive athletes, Dr. Kussman enjoys helping her patients recover, return to their activities, and meet their goals.

    Dr. Kussman provides teaching to the Stanford University Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), and the Female Athlete Triad Coalition.

    In her spare time, Dr. Kussman enjoys camping, hiking, running, playing soccer, watching sports, trying out new sports, reading, and spending time with her husband and their puppy.

He has distinguished himself in the field of Hepatitis C therapeutics and has been the principal investigator on multiple international trials.     Dr. Kwon received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Brown University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and then received her medical degree at Stanford University. After medical school, Dr. Kwon completed an internship in Medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore before completing her dermatology residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. She completed the last year of her residency at Stanford as a research fellow and clinical resident where she studied new ways to prevent and treat basal cell carcinomas.

    Bio Bernice Kwong, M.D., is Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Director of the Supportive Dermato-Oncology Program, and Director of the Inpatient Dermatology Consult Service. She has a special interest in the management of cutaneous complications that arise in hospitalized patients and cancer patients. She runs the Supportive Dermato-Oncology Program at the Stanford Cancer Center, where she manages skin side effects of cancer therapies including chemotherapy-related skin reactions, radiation dermatitis, and graft-versus-host disease. Dr. Kwong completed medical school at Yale University, and completed her dermatology residency at Stanford University in 2012.
