Current Research and Scholarly Interests As part of the Pediatric Mood Disorders Program, Dr. Singh conducts research in the phenomenology, neurobiology, pharmacology, and genetic aspects of depression and bipolar disorder in children. These studies include brain imaging (MRI, MRS, fMRI), medication, and psychotherapy trials. She is particularly interested in risk factors for the development of major mood disorders and associated morbidities, and early intervention strategies to delay the onset and progression of symptoms.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests Our lab elucidates the molecular basis of pathogenesis of the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. We use genetic and genomic approaches to identify novel virulence determinants and to characterize the global epidemiology of the parasite.

Bio Dr Singh has a background in molecular cell biology, pain medicine, and regional aneshtesia with a forte in advanced ultrasound guided procedures for pain and anesthesia medicine. She has served in medical ethics, and continues to service on scientific editorial boards, committees for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, California Medical Association. Hers is a practice that uniquely focuses on regional anesthesia and perioperative, subacute, and the development of chronic pain, with an emphasis on alternative and traditional medicine approaches.. She has a particular interests are in persistent pain following surgical procedures and long term chronic pain issues. Dr. SIngh has a background and interest in education for medical students, residents, and fellows. She strongly believes in a patient-centered approach to medicine.
