    Leonardo Tozzi

    Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Psychiatry

Bio Dr. Leonardo Tozzi graduated as a Medical Doctor from Pisa University and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in 2013. Immediately thereafter, his interest in the investigation of mood disorders using Magnetic Resonance Imaging led him to join the R'Birth Consortium, a Marie Curie Initial Training Network spanning across 7 European countries. In 2017, he was awarded his Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin for his research on the interaction between genetic risk factors, epigenetic modifications and environmental stressors as predictors of structural and functional brain changes related to Major Depression.
Dr. Tozzi joined Williams PANLab at Stanford University at the start of 2018 as a post-doctoral fellow within the framework of the Human Connectome Project. His goal is to use functional and structural connectivity analyses to develop precision psychiatry metrics related to the biology underpinning anxiety and depression. By combining connectomics and predictive algorithms, he also aims to assess the potential of these measures for clinical applications such as guiding treatment selection and estimating therapy response.

    Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Psychiatry

Bio I am a postdoc scholar at Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. I am interested in studying brain dynamics, measured using fMRI, EEG and fNIRs using manifold learning, machine learning and pattern recognition, and discovering link between brain dynamics to psychiatric diseases.

  • Yu Zhang

    Yu Zhang

    Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Psychiatry

Bio Yu Zhang received the Ph.D. degree in Control Science and Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. He worked as a Research Associate for two years in the Laboratory for Advanced Brain Signal Processing at RIKEN Brain Science Institute, Japan, where he has focused on developing advanced pattern recognition algorithm for EEG analysis with applications in brain-computer interfaces. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellows for one year at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he has mainly studied in functional brain network analysis with fMRI for brain disease diagnosis. He is working in the Etkin Lab at Stanford University as a Postdoctoral Fellows and has focused on machine learning-based sophisticated analysis of EEG and fMRI connectivity with TMS for various medical applications, including subtype identification, treatment outcome prediction, and so on. His research interests include computational neuroscience, brain network, medical imaging computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and signal processing.

  • Yuan Zhang

    Yuan Zhang

    Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Psychiatry

Bio I was trained in cognitive neuroscience and computer science. My current research interests involve using multimodal neuroimaging and advanced computational methods to characterize brain network organization underlying affective and cognitive processing in children with and without neurodevelopmental disorders.
