Current Research and Scholarly Interests Application of magnetic resonance imaging modalities and component process analysis of cognitive, sensory, and motor functions to identify brain structural and functional mechanisms disrupted in neurodegenerative conditions: alcoholism, Alzheimer's disease, HIV infection, and normal aging. Our laboratory is applying structural MRI, MR spectroscopy, and MR diffusion tensor imaging to animal models of aging and alcoholism in parallel with the human studies.
