Gregory Hammer
Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine (Pediatric) and of Pediatrics (Critical Care) at the Stanford University Medical Center
Current Research and Scholarly Interests Dr. Hammer's primary research interests are pediatric pharmacology and perioperative care of children undergoing cardiac surgery. He has numerous funded research projects in these areas, including an NIH grant for $4.3 million to study the pharmacology of sodium nitroprusside, a drug commonly used for blood pressure control in the operating room and ICU. Dr. Hammer has two other NIH grants and other ongoing research projects in the area of pediatric pharmacology.

T. Kyle Harrison, MD

Bio Dr. T. Kyle Harrison is a Clinical Professor (Affiliated- PAVA) of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University and a staff physician at the VA Palo Alto. He earned his MD and did his residency training in anesthesiology at Stanford University. He completed a medical education and simulation fellowship at Stanford and then obtained additional training in addiction medicine at both Stanford and the VA Palo Alto. He is interested in the intersection of pain and addiction. He attends on both the acute pain service as well as the addiction medicine clinic at the VA Palo Alto. His academic interest include addiction, pain, peri operative management of buprenorphine, conversion of acute to chronic pain, and medical simulation. Erin Hennessey, MD
Clinical Associate Professor, Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine
Bio Dr. Hennessey is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University and her medical degree at Saint Louis University. Following an internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, she completed her anesthesia and critical care training at Stanford University. Dr. Hennessey is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. She joined the faculty at Stanford in 2012 and performs clinical duties on the following services: general anesthesia, anesthesia preoperative care clinic, anesthesia perioperative surgical home service, cardiothoracic intensive care unit, and medical-surgical intensive care unit. Clinical areas of study include early mobility and delirium management of critically ill patients as well as patient-family interaction in the ICU. She currently serves as the Program Director of the Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine Fellowship and as the Rotation Director for the Critical Care Core Clerkship at Stanford School of Medicine. Her medical education interests include simulation, innovative instruction using virtual environments, quality-improvement training for trainees, methods of assessment, and patient-doctor communication skills.
