Current Research and Scholarly Interests I am interested in understanding the determinants of therapeutic resistance in cancer. To investigate the contribution of intratumor heterogeneity to resistance, I will investigate the adaptive responses to chemotherapy or target therapy using single-cell RNA sequencing. This will be performed in cell line and patient derived organoid models of colorectal cancer. These results will be used to devise non-sequential combination treatment strategies that can potentially prevent the emergence of resistant cellular sub-populations. I will also follow up on the mechanistic basis of resistance using various molecular biology techniques.
