I am an Internist and Pediatrician and am currently training in Pediatric Infectious Disease. Prior to beginning my training in Pediatric Infectious Disease I worked on Pediatric HIV in resource-limited settings. My current research is focused on the maternal fetal immune system and how pregnancy impairs antiviral immunity. To evaluate this question I have enrolled a cohort of pregnant women undergoing influenza vaccination. We use mass cytometry to determine how pregnancy alters NK cell immune phenotypes and functions. In addition, I am interested in quality improvement regarding antimicrobial stewardship and evidence based global health policy.
