Shazia Bhombal, MD

Dr. Shazia Bhombal was the founder and first NICU Medical Director of our POCUS Program (2018-2022). Dr. Bhombal was instrumental in establishing the infrastructure for our program, which included machine acquisition, database construction, and educational programs. Dr. Bhombal is a frequent collaborator with our POCUS program.

Daniele De Luca, MD, PhD, OMRI

Dr. Daniele De Luca was a visiting professor to our POCUS program in 2023. Dr. De Luca is a Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology) and head of the Division of Pediatrics and Neonatal Critical Care at the “A. Beclere” Hospital belonging to APHP-Paris Saclay University. He is a world-renowned expert in lung ultrasound and organizer of the annual LAUNCH/VOLT Congress.

Yogen Singh, MD

As an adjunct Clinical Professor in the Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine (2021-2023), Dr. Yogen Singh taught and mentored trainees, collaborated on several of our POCUS program’s research projects, and provided instruction at our training courses.

Caroline Yeon-Kyeong Noh, MD

Dr. Caroline Noh (neonatology fellow 2019-2022) was the Associate Director of the POCUS Program from 2022-2023. Dr. Noh helped to construct our REDcap database that is used to track imaging in the NICU and PICU. Dr. Noh collaborated in several publications from our program (PMID 35250003, 35691294, 37615892).

Vidya Pai, MD

Dr. Vidya Pai (neonatology fellow 2016-2019) was the Associate Director of the POCUS program from 2019-2020. As one of our original team members, Dr. Pai published a manuscript that described the early experience of our program (PMID 35691294).

Past Trainees

Faith Myers, MD

Neonatology Fellow from 2021-2024

Dr. Myers completed a project investigating the utility of lung ultrasound score to predict CPAP weaning success (PMID 39496765). She has also presented data on the status of POCUS education for neonatology fellowships in the United States.

Hannah Gu, MD

Neonatology fellow 2021-2024

Dr. Gu completed a project investigating the use of POCUS to predict performance of lumbar puncture.
