Education as the Great Equalizer? The Role of Institutional Characteristics in the Health Returns to College Completion

College graduates live healthier and longer lives compared to peers with less educational attainment. However, the health benefits of college completion vary by race/ethnicity. Using longitudinal data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health, I examine the role of pre-college childhood characteristics and institutional characteristics of colleges in shaping race/ethnic disparities in health.
