Fellows' Conferences
PHM Fellows Core Lecture Series
The PHM Fellows Core Lecture Series occurs in 7 half-day blocks and covers a variety of clinical and professional topics relevant to the specialty of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Bay Area Joint Educational Didactics (JEDI)
PHM fellows from Bay Area institutions (Stanford, UCSF, Kaiser Oakland) come together 3 half-days a year to participate in interactive sessions on PHM core competencies and network with fellows and faculty.
Fellows' College
All fellows participate in the Department of Pediatrics Fellows' College which covers core topics in teaching, quality improvement, business of medicine, ethics, professionalism and career development.
MCHRI Grant Writing Club
All 1st year fellows participate in the Department of Pediatrics Grant Writing Club, which is designed to teach fundamentals of grant writing, culminating in MCHRI grant submission in Feburary.
Fellows' Scholarship Club
The Fellows' Scholarship Club is a research seminar for all pediatric fellows, which covers topics such as: identifying research mentors, study design, statistics, survey development, and statistical software.
PHM Division Conferences
Weekly Clinical Case Conference
Faculty and fellows meet weekly to discuss current cases at LPCHS. Fellows present interesting cases when they are on service.
Monthly Clinical Case Conference
Interesting cases from LPCHS and regional sites are presented at PHM division meetings. Each fellow presents at least one case per year.
Journal Club
Journal Club occurs monthly and is led by faculty and fellows to keep abreast of the current literature. Each fellow presents an article once a year.
RICH Meetings
Research in Children's Health (RICH) meetings occur twice a month and include works-in-progress presentations and additional research training. Fellows present their own projects at least 2 times per year.
Morbidity and Mortality Conference
PHM fellows lead division members twice a year through discussion and analysis of a challenging case.

Pediatric Grand Rounds
Held every Friday from September to June, Pediatric Grand Rounds is a great way to learn cutting edge pediatric clinical research, basic science research, child advocacy, quality improvement, medical education and global health.
