Strong 365 is a public education project of One Mind Institute. Through its online resource hub, social networks and blog, the digital campaign seeks to identify young people in need of support for psychosis, and connect them to information and treatment earlier.
In Their Own Words: The most important feedback I have gotten from young adult peers, exposed to the site, is that “I don’t feel so alone, knowing others hear voices”. Another peer, not served by my team, told me that “It was very defeating to be told (by a professional) ‘you know the voices/visions aren’t real, just ignore them’, when I wanted to talk about the distress they caused me, I knew they weren’t real”. Voice Collective, while emphasizing that not all voices/visions are distressing, has extensive resources if the peer wants support. These resources are created by peers with lived experience.

Spotlight on: The Oregon Early Assessment and Support Alliance is celebrating the tenth year since it began statewide dissemination and 11 new counties started programs. From the Research Front: Previous research has demonstrated that many patients with substance-induced psychosis are likely to later develop psychotic or other psychiatric disorders. However, few studies have examined the mechanisms behind the conversion of substance use to other psychiatric diagnoses. In Their Own Words: Even though 1.1% of the world’s population over the age of eighteen has some sort of form of schizophrenia, there is currently no organization focused on specifically helping college students who have schizophrenia.
