Clinical Care

Our attending physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases provide both inpatient and outpatient clinical services across three distinct hospital programs: Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (LPCHS) and its satellite hospital, Packard at El Camino Hospital (PEC) in Mountain View, John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, and California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.

Inpatient Care

The Infectious Disease attending physicians and APPs primarily provide consultations to other physicians, assisting them in diagnosing and managing complex patients with suspected or confirmed infectious diseases. Infectious Disease attending physicians and APPs engage collaboratively with the consulting physician/team and with laboratory, pharmacy, pathology, radiology, and other services in order to provide the best care to the patient.   Our Division faculty also lead four distinct programs that serve the entire LPCHS hospital by collaborating with multiple stakeholders throughout the hospital/clinic system so that we can deliver exceptional clinical care to all of the patients.

We also provide clinical care for patients who require additional outpatient care for infectious diseases after discharge from their inpatient hospitalization.
