Li Ka Shing Center for Learning & Knowledge, Stanford

Dear Incoming Fellows,

Congratulations on matching with a Stanford Pediatrics fellowship program! We are extremely excited to welcome you to Stanford and to begin our journey together. As an introduction, we are the Fellowship Leadership Team (FLT). We are dedicated to providing you with resources and support to make your fellowship the most fulfilling experience possible and help you meet your fellowship goals.

Stanford’s dedication to education and the academic mission form the foundation of what makes Stanford an amazing place to be a fellow. We are blessed with phenomenal people--faculty and staff--who are committed to all education arenas, including clinical care, teaching, and scholarship, and to providing an environment of inquiry to support your development.

We hope that you find the outstanding array of opportunities available exciting and that you take advantage of all that Stanford offers. As part of your experience, we would like to introduce our departmental programs that merge with and enhance your subspecialty experiences. Please see our calendar of offerings (link), the Fellow Well-being program (link) and explore the webpage, which gives a great overview and historical content (link).

Without a doubt, your clinical experience will phenomenal. We are lucky to have diverse clinical entities, from common to rare and to learn from the full breadth of clinical cases in all hosts. There is no better place to master your clinical skills.

During fellowship, you have the opportunity to explore the full range of scholarship opportunities. Having the Stanford Medical Center integrated into the larger community at Stanford University means that faculty mentorship for any scholarship project is at your fingertips. No matter what scholarship you decide to pursue, mentorship is a priority, and we are here to help foster your success.

As you can see, we are thrilled that you have chosen to pursue your subspecialty training at Stanford and look forward to welcoming you in person during orientation (link). We are confident that your time here will be exceptional, and our goal is to make sure you have access to the tools, content, and mentors necessary to be successful, and that you finish fellowship with the skills to be a leader.

We look forward to meeting all of you in-person at our New Fellow Orientation, scheduled for Friday, July 5 and Monday, July 8, 2019. In preparation for orientation, please complete our Onboarding Survey by April 8.

Our doors are always open, so let us know if you have any questions or need anything.
