Pediatric Intensive Care

This selective is meant to provide initial broad exposure to the PICU. Time will be spent with the buffer fellow/attending (who respond to urgent issues in the unit, admit patients and do procedures while the teams are rounding, go to rapids/codes, etc), as well as with PICU nursing, respiratory therapists, social workers, pharmacists. If there are several days in the resident’s schedule without jeopardy or clinic requirements, they may also choose to join a team and follow patients primarily.
