Rotation Guide & Goals
The pediatric ophthalmology rotation provides an overview of ophthalmologic conditions and the ophthalmologic examination with the broad goal of preparing the pediatrician, generalist or subspecialist, for the recognition, care, and referral of patients with eye disease. Among other conditions, you will have thorough exposure to strabismus, amblyopia, and infectious eye disease. You will improve your skills at the direct ophthalmologic exam and will be introduced to the slit lamp examination.
