Rotation Guide & Goals
The goal of this 2 or 4-week elective is to expose you to the breadth of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and to help increase your skills in general pediatric inpatient care, teaching, and the care of the newly born in the delivery room, Family Baby Unit (FBU), and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You may also elect to spend time in the Pediatric Short Stay Unit to learn sedation skills and may spend additional time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to improve your neonatal resuscitation skills or to care for sick newborns. As this is an elective, there will be a variety of choices to help tailor your experiences.
