Rotation Guide & Goals
This rotation provides additional training in DBP that can be tailored to suit the goals of the trainee. For example, the trainee may select additional training in high-risk infant follow-up care. This would be ideal for residents who plan careers in DBP, neonatology, pediatric neurology, or general pediatrics. The trainee may also want additional experience evaluating older children for developmental or behavioral differences. This could focus on children ages 2-6 or 6-12 or both. This would be ideal for residents who plan careers in DBP, pediatric neurology, child psychiatry or general pediatrics.
Activities may include:
DBP Infant Developmental Specialty Program
(1) Evaluate HRIF patients of different ages - obtain history, conduct developmental assessments, complete physical and neurological examinations;
(2) Discuss management plans and referrals with interdisciplinary team, counsel families and provide feedback
DBP YCP and/or MCP Programs
(1) Evaluate young and/or middle childhood patients of different ages - obtain history, conduct developmental assessments, complete physical and neurological examinations;
(2) Discuss management plans and referrals with interdisciplinary team, counsel families and provide feedback
