Students may not engage in any additional full-time internship, job, or volunteer positions while participating in the CRISP summer program, whether funded by Stanford or another source. Full-time expectations include 35+ hours/week from June 22, 2026 to August 28, 2026. Participation in any additional part-time opportunity beyond the CRISP summer program must receive prior written approval from the CRISP summer program. Approval is contingent upon confirmation that the additional commitment(s) will not interfere with the student’s ability to fully meet the expectations of the CRISP summer program. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in the reversal of stipends already paid or processed.

Program Cost & Stipend

There is no cost for students to participate in this program. Admitted students will receive a stipend of $8,500 for 10 weeks full-time (35+ hours/week) over the summer. The stipend includes a $2,500 student housing supplement. Students may be eligible for an additional financial need-based supplement of up to $1,500, as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

The stipend will be paid in advance on a good-faith estimate of total hours worked during the summer. Students must spend a minimum of 350 hours and a maximum of 400 hours during the program. 

Eligibility & Assessment Criteria

• The CRISP program is only open to Stanford students.
• Students must be enrolled as undergraduates to apply for the CRISP summer program as freshman, sophomores, or juniors at the time of application.
• Students must have a stated goal of applying to medical school with an interest in pursuing Pediatrics.
• Students must be available for 10 weeks starting June 22, 2026 on a full-time basis.
• Students may not receive both academic units and funding for participation in the CRISP summer program.
• Students may not be serving a suspension or be on a Leave of Absence and participate in the CRISP summer program.
• Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible for the CRISP summer program, but the CRISP summer program does not use a GPA requirement for eligibility. 

CRISP Application

Students will provide the following information in their application:

• Contact information
• Major (if declared) and list of undergraduate courses taken relevant to the program
• Two essay questions (200 words each)
• Resume
• Faculty Mentor/Project Selection
• Demographic information

Selection Process

During February 2026, student applicants will be interviewed by faculty mentors as part of the selection process. Selected students will be notified by the CRISP summer program in March 2026.
