PCPH Winter Celebration Blends Philanthropy and Fun
In February 2019, the Division of Primary Care and Population Health held its annual New Year's Celebration at Paul Brest Hall. University faculty and staff, as well as SHC clinic staff, and guests were invited to come celebrate the many great accomplishments of 2018 and the amazing new year of 2019.
In addition to the fun festivities, this year's celebration featured a silent auction, under the leadership of Dr. Kirsti Weng and PCPH staff member Loto Reed, to benefit the Division's partners at MayView Community Clinic. Donations for the auction were provided by PCPH faculty and staff, as well as the Chair of the Department of Medicine, Dr. Robert Harrington, MayView providers, and private donors. Donated items included a Hawaiian vacation, gourmet private dinner parties, massage services, hikes, and more. By the end of the evening, more than $8000 had been raised for MayView Community Clinic. With the success of the silent auction, PCPH plans to include future opportunities for community outreach as part of the annual winter celebration.
