Stanford Pathology Announces the Award Winners of this year's Research Retreat
Stanford Pathology is excited to announce the award winners from this year's Research Retreat, held on October 11, 2024, at the beautiful David and Joan Traitel Building adjacent to Hoover Tower. The event attracted over 650 participants, both in-person and virtually, and was an outstanding demonstration of the latest advances in basic and translational research within the department. The retreat featured a diverse lineup of expert speakers from various specialties. Attendees heard about recent discoveries in ovarian (and, it turns out, fallopian tube) cancer research, innovative approaches to treating food allergies, regulation of metabolism, hematologic cell development, and the genomics of rare diseases, among many other topics. It was an incredible opportunity for learning and collaboration across disciplines!
Equally important were the opportunities for discussions with new colleagues and old friends while visiting the 106 scientific poster presentations. Ten captivating submissions in pathology artwork further enriched the experience of the day.
The central aims of the retreat are to share and deepen understanding among Stanford Pathology members of the extensive range of research conducted in the Department, and to encourage collaboration and foster opportunities for research training. Let us carry the positive energy from this gathering with us in the exciting year ahead.
