Dr. Richard Pacheco (GU Pathology Fellow) has been awarded the Genitourinary Pathology Society Dr. Ondra Hes Award for Best Kidney Cancer Research

Dr. Richard Pacheco (GU Pathology Fellow) has been awarded the Genitourinary Pathology Society Dr. Ondra Hes Award for Best Kidney Cancer Research, given annually for the best USCAP research paper in kidney tumor pathology: “Comprehensive molecular characterization of acquired cystic disease-associated renal cell carcinoma (ACD-RCC) reveals overlap with papillary renal cell carcinoma in a subset by copy number analysis.” The additional authors include Drs. Ankur Sangoi, Andy Acosta, Deepika Sirohi, and Emily Chan (mentor).
Additionally, current and future Stanford GU Pathology-Focused Fellows took home four of the five 2026 ISUP Stipend Awards, given annually to outstanding trainees in the field of Urologic Pathology: Drs. Richard Pacheco, Douglas Wu, Jennifer Nguyen and Garrett Chan.
