Stanford Pathology is proud to announce that Lianna Wat, PhD, was nominated for this meeting by the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) in 2020 when she was a graduate student attending the University of British Columbia. At CSHRF, Lianna won 3 awards, one of which was the Lindau Scholar Award which granted her a nomination to attend this Lindau meeting on June 2023.

Lianna Wat was selected at the 2020 CSHRF for her presentation on the topic “A role for triglyceride lipase brummer in the regulation of sex differences in Drosophila fat storage and breakdown”. Both panels of judges were unanimously enthusiastic regarding her exceptional scientific merit and suitability as a most promising research trainee for participation in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting.
