Congratulations to Dr. Kong, recipient of the 2021 Denise O'Leary Award

Christina Kong, MD will be recognized as the 2021 recipient of the Denise O’Leary Award, an annual physician award from the SHC Board of Directors to recognize inspiring compassion in the care of patients and families. The award is meaningful every year, but the past year of COVID/pandemic challenges brought out the best in many. Amongst the many physician leaders and frontline clinicians who earned our praise and gratitude, nobody earned it more than you.

You brought a steady and calm leadership to one of the most scrutinized and heavily relied upon areas during the pandemic. You were available 24/7 to adapt to new requirements and policies; to communicate patiently and honestly with whomever asked; and to instill confidence that we were going to be prepared for every form of uncertainty. You also provided endless support to so many of us with our individual questions, yet never made it feel like a burden. You smiled and kept us moving forward.

With incredible gratitude, Niraj
