Pathologist, Dr. Richard L. Kempson dies at 92

Dear colleagues,
We are deeply saddened to inform you that Dr. Richard L. Kempson died on Friday morning in Hawaii. Dr. Kempson was one of the founding faculty members of Stanford Pathology, an icon in academic medicine, an inspired leader in surgical pathology, and a beloved teacher, friend, and mentor to many.
In time we will celebrate Dr. Kempson’s legacy, but for now we remember him with deep affection and wish the best to his family in their time of grief.
