Trial Periods
The trial period is extended for the duration of any approved leave of absence. No other extensions of the trial period are permitted. Please review the admin guide for more information.
During trial periods, employees are not eligible for a salary increase based on merit. More information can be found here.
The trial period for non-bargaining unit positions is a 12-month period of service, whilethe trial period for bargaining unit positions is a 3-month period of service. During this time, the department assesses the performance of a newly hired, benefitted employee to determine if the employee meets the requirements and expectations of the position.
Supervisors are expected to contact to Pathology HR at pathologyhr@stanford.edu immediately with any performance concerns.

Trial Period Policy
Supervisors may click the form below to download the current Performance Evaluation. Please work closely with Pathology HR to submit the completed Performance Evaluation upon an employee's Trial Period completion.
