About the Speaker
"I am a diagnostic hematopathologist and the Director of Hematopathology in the Department of Pathology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. My research interests focus on lymphoma, in particular, lymphoma arising in extranodal sites. Together with colleagues in the Pathology Department and in other departments, I have studied the clinico-pathologic features of a variety of extranodal lymphomas: testicular lymphoma, renal lymphoma, ocular adnexal lymphoma, intravascular lymphoma (malignant angioendotheliomatosis), lymphoma of bone, gastric lymphoma, nasal lymphoma, paranasal sinus lymphoma, female genital tract lymphoma, breast lymphoma and cutaneous lymphoma. The differential diagnosis of extranodal lymphoma is also of great interest to me, and in an attempt to understand such entities, we have studied reactive lymphoid infiltrates, plasmacytoma and myeloid sarcoma in selected extranodal sites. As of 2024, I have contributed to WHO Classification “blue books” on tumors of 11 different organs systems: Hematopoietic and lymphoid, Breast, Central nervous system, Urinary system and male genital organs, Digestive system, Female reproductive organs, Head and Neck, Thoracic, Skin, Eye and Endocrine."
