Prospective Postdoctoral Researchers
Criteria for Appointment:
- Initial appointments are generally restricted to those who have received their Ph.D. within the last three years or their M.D. within the last six years
- Candidates must not be appointed at another institution or employed elsewhere concurrently with the stanford postdoctoral appointment
- Candidates must have less than 51 total months of experience as a postdoctoral fellow
- Candidates must have sufficient proficiency in the English language to successfully participate in his or her program and to function on a day-to-day basis.

Discuss Your Last Day with Your PI
Send your resignation letter to your PI and Postdoc Admin, Jessica Mondragon with the following information:
- Last day on Stanford payroll
- Forwarding email (non-Stanford)
- Forwarding Address
- Your next position: Title and Institution
Health Insurance Coverage
Your Stanford health insurance benefit will be active until the last day of the month in which you leave Stanford. After that, you can enroll in continuation of your health insurance through COBRA.
Your Stanford Accounts & Access
- You have continued access to your Stanford email account for a 120-day grace period after your appointment ends. Email access ends when the grace period ends, and any email left on the university mail servers will be deleted.
- If you require continued access for lab continuity, please discuss continuing your email with your PI. Your PI can sponsor your email coverage for an additional fee.

On Your Last Day in the Lab
Return your School of Medicine Badge, Computer, Lab Coat and Materials to your PI, lab manager, and administrator.
De-Encrypt Your Personal Devices
Please plan to de-encrypt your personal devices when you are no longer working on Stanford research.
