Below, we summarize the monthly PD events and support groups we coordinate as well as Stanford Healthcare's fall prevention and exercise classes.
Monthly Speakers
We believe that a well-informed community is a healthier community! Our Palo Alto PD Support Group has guest speakers each month, in a webinar format. Speakers are Stanford healthcare professionals and others who highlight local resources. The virtual meetings are on the second Wednesday, 2:30-4pm. Speaker presentations are usually recorded and shared online. Join the Palo Alto group's email list for announcements about speakers.

Events
Occasionally we offer other Parkinson's or atypical parkinsonism events in the community. These can be in-person only, virtual only, or sometimes hybrid. Sometimes they are focused on caregiving. Join our email list or watch our blog for information on these events. Find our event recordings on our YouTube channel.
Stanford Fall Prevention and Exercise Offerings
In addition, we partner with groups at Stanford Healthcare that offer exercise and fall prevention classes, including:
- Farewell to Falls: evidence-based offerings — reducing falls by 30% — for older adults in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties
- Neuroscience Wellness Classes: virtual exercise classes include standing and seated exercise, tai chi, yoga, qi gong, tango, and dance, free and open to the community, regardless of where you receive care
- Strong for Life: a free, in-person exercise program offered through Aging Adult Services at Stanford Health Care, advance registration required
In addition to these Stanford-led offerings, view information on Northern and Central California support groups, in-person exercise classes, virtual exercise classes, fall prevention programs, and healthcare specialists in Northern and Central California.
