Background

Frailty affects about 15% of people over 65 and 25-50% of those over 80. Frail patients are at greater risk for complications, longer length of stay, high-cost care, and mortality. Frail patients are at greater risk for post-operative complications, longer length of stay when hospitalized, high-cost care, and mortality.
