RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
Innovating in Retina requires scholarship and collaboration-- which our faculty pride themselves on. The depth and breadth of the research conducted in the Retina Division, the Department and across the University is immense. We encourage our fellows to remain inquisitive physicians who strive to move the needle in terms of discovery science, clinical innovations, and outcomes-based research. We protect 20% research time for our fellows to work with our faculty or to further their own independent strategies. We have had fellows start companies, lead FDA seminars, edit books, and write fantastic papers. Most importantly, we want our fellows to engage in the research process. We want to teach you how to conduct high quality research and navigate the publication process. It helps that we have two editor-in-chiefs in our division: Dr Moshfeghi (OSLI Retina) and Dr. Nguyen (AJO Case Reports); numerous faculty are editorial board members as well!
We encourage our fellows to work with all our faculty. Check out a few of our faculty's research programs.
