SUMMA Conference FAQs
Q: I want to know if we can register a group for your conference or if registration is on an individual basis?
A: Yes, you can register as an individual, or as a group, for the SUMMA conference. To purchase additional tickets for your group you will need to navigate to the second page of the registration platform where you will encounter the following instructions:

Q: What is the registration start date?
A: Registration is currently open until January 30th, 2026.
Q: Do you typically have students from other parts of the country attend as well?
A: Yes, we have students from all over the nation attend the SUMMA conference!
Q: How much does it cost to attend the SUMMA Conference?
A: $40.00 USD early bird registration before January 1, 2026. $45 USD after January 1, 2026.
Q: Whom may I contact for information and or questions?
A: Please email your question directly to summaconference@stanford.edu. Your question will be responded to within 3 to 5 business days.
Q: Can I request a refund?
A: As stated on the conference webpage, and registration platform, no refunds are offered for conference registration. You may, however, transfer your conference registration to another individual by using the transfer button located on your online confirmation until Friday, January 30, 2026.
Q: Can High School students attend the SUMMA Conference?
A: The SUMMA Conference focuses on premedical and pre-health students currently enrolled in college. The SUMMA Conference is therefore not open to high school students.
Q: Is the SUMMA Conference for minority pre-medical college students only?
A: No. The SUMMA Conference is open to ALL college students pursuing a health career.
Q: Do you offer housing before the event?
A: The SUMMA Conference does not offer housing for the conference. Conference attendees may secure lodging off campus. For a list of hotels near the Stanford campus please visit the SUMMA Conference website and select the button titled “Hotels near Stanford University (PDF)”.
Q: Is parking free?
A: Yes. Parking is free on Saturdays, however, please pay careful attention to parking signs on campus parking lots to avoid restricted parking areas and a parking ticket- even on weekends.
Q: Where is the Morning Plenary taking place?
A: The morning plenary will take place at the William R. Hewlett Teaching Center (370 JANE STANFORD WAY, STANFORD).
The William R. Hewlett Teaching Center is adjacent to the Packard Building and is across from the Gilbert Biological Sciences building.
Q: Where will conference, workshops take place?
A: Conference workshops will take place at several building locations including the Li Ka Shing Learning and Knowledge Center (LKSC), Alway Building, and the Hewlett Teaching Center.
Registered conference attendees will receive instructions to download the conference phone app to access the conference schedule. Conference schedule will provide the room and building locations where each SUMMA Conference workshop will take place. Day of event conference volunteers will be available to guide conference attendees to the workshops they wish to attend. In addition, conference attendees may go to the conference Help Desk in Berg Hall on the second floor of LKSC to receive further assistance. The addresses to LKSC, Alway Building and William R. Hewlett Teach Center are as follows:

Q: Does the SUMMA Conference offer a scholarship, fee waiver, or discount?
A: Please note fee waivers are not offered as the conference registration fee is already offered at a subsidized rate. We encourage you to reach out to your institution to request funding to pay for your SUMMA Conference registration fee.
Q: (For Advisors and Counselors) When is the Group Registration deadline for students?
A: Group Registration Tickets should be completed a week prior to the conference date. Friday the 30th, 2026. You will receive a group code after purchase to complete your registration.
Q: When will the opening and closing sessions be held?
A: Below is a tentative schedule:
- 8:00 am -10:00 am - Morning Plenary held in the Hewlett Auditorium on campus
- 10:15 am – 11:15 am – Session A workshops
- 11:30 am – 12:30 pm – Session B workshops
- 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Exhibitor Fair/Lunch
- 2:45 pm -3:45 pm – Session C Workshops
- 4:00 pm – 4:15 pm – Closing Remarks/Raffle
