Meet Our Fellows

Arian Khorshid, MD will be remaining at Stanford as a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellow after the completion of his residency training in August 2023. His academic journey started as a biomedical engineer at the University of Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor's in Science with high distinction in 2014. He then ventured to Colorado to serve with AmeriCorps during a year in which he taught sexual education to middle and high-schoolers and volunteered as a birth doula. He subsequently obtained his medical degree at the University of Colorado where he received several merit-based scholarships for his work in medical education and underserved medical care. Seeking a new adventure, he then moved to California to join Stanford's Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program.

During his residency training, Dr. Khorshid's passion for REI blossomed. His scientific endeavors focused on applying his interest in accessible and equitable care to the field of REI. He has presented his work at the ASRM Scientific Congress and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society meetings, and published manuscripts in Fertility & Sterility and Journal of Assisted Reproduction & Genetics, amongst others. He was recognized for his outstanding performance during his REI rotation as a resident and was nationally recognized with the 2022 SREI Resident Award for Excellence in REI.

Dr. Khorshid's mission is to enhance the equity and accessibility of REI services. His interests in this field include cost-effectiveness, machine learning, and the disposition of surplus embryos. Outside of work, he loves food, his wife, and his cat, Turnip. He is also an avid backgammon player and is obsessed with tea.

Greysha Rivera-Cruz, attended the University of Puerto Rico from 2007-2011 where she got her bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences. She then went to Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine from 2011-2015 where she started developing her interest in reproductive medicine and was selected as a member of Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor Medical Society. In 2019 Greysha finished her Ob-Gyn training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine where she also served as chief resident and was recognized for her excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery as well as in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery. During her residency, she discovered her true passion while taking care of patients with genetic disorders that predisposes them to infertility.

Greysha is a Puerto Rican obstetrician and gynecologist who recently graduated as a medical geneticist from Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School Genetics Training Program. During her genetics training, she developed interest while caring for women with Turner syndrome (TS) and patients predisposed to premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). She has also worked in various research projects related to infertility and genetic/genomic application. After completion of medical genetics fellowship, Greysha joined IVF Florida Reproductive Associates as a Reproductive Geneticist, where she has been providing comprehensive preconception and prenatal genetic counseling.

 As a Hispanic physician, Dr. Rivera-Cruz has the ambition to provide care for racial and ethnic minority groups, especially patients within the Hispanic community. She would like to be an advocate from her community by improving healthcare access, medical care at the same time improving Latinx research representation in reproductive medicine.

Greysha enjoys teaching using social media to educate others about reproductive and prenatal genetics. She created @reproductivegenetics page on Instagram (IG). She also has been involved with Dr. Ghidei (REI) in a YouTube channel called "Tu fertilidad" to inform Hispanic patients about fertility topics in Spanish. Greysha is a foodie and cooking enthusiast. She shares her passion for food through recipes and pictures on IG @gourmeds. Lastly, she is a Flamenco aficionado and dancer in training. I am beyond thrilled to join Stanford REI fellowship program in order to contribute with innovation and high quality research in reproductive genetics.

Anthony Bui, MD, MSCR, was born and raised in Trumbull, Connecticut. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University, graduating with Honors in Computational Biology. He then obtained his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, earning a Distinction in Research while authoring a thesis on improving compliance with surgical debrief protocols, prior to moving South for his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!).

During his residency training, he fell in love with Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He found great joy in helping families meet their reproductive goals. He also found himself to be endlessly fascinated by the mysteries of implantation, utilizing his skills in statistical programming to explore differences in endometrial cell populations associated with infertility. Furthermore, he found an outlet for his passion in surgery through REI, authoring numerous abstracts and manuscripts on surgical outcomes and disparities. Anthony has presented his work at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and was the recipient of the 2022 Society for Reproductive Surgeons Traveling Scholar Award.

Anthony is deeply passionate about research and the pursuit of knowledge. He has a particular interest in biostatistics and bioinformatics methodologies as they pertain to 'big data' in medicine, and plans to explore these interests in depth while at Stanford. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano, hanging out with his family and cat, pickleball, and mahjong.

I am thrilled to be joining the Stanford REI program. Stanford serves as a model of innovation for the medical community and sets the pace for a field that is constantly growing and evolving. To be part of this mission at Stanford is one of the greatest honors in my career thus far, and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the patients of the Bay Area.

Mackenzie Naert, MD, MSCR, is originally from Dallas, Texas and is excited to be coming to Stanford from the East Coast, where she has been for the last 13+ years. Her studies began at Yale, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Anthropology. She was also a Global Health Fellow and spent a semester in Kenya studying public health and human rights. She then went to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai through the Humanities and Medicine early acceptance program. At Mount Sinai, Mackenzie pursued a dual degree to gain her Master’s of Science in Clinical Research. Her primary research projects focused on subchorionic hematomas and cardiovascular disease prevention in rural communities in Kenya, for which she received funding from the American Heart Association. Mackenzie earned several awards in medical school including the Dr. Alan Guttmacher Obstetrics and Gynecology Award and the Excellence in Mentorship Award, and she graduated with Distinction in Research, Medical Education, and Global Health.

Following medical school, Mackenzie was a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Program affiliated with Harvard Medical School. During residency, she conducted clinical research in the areas of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Her research was presented at several national conferences, published in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and won the Massachusetts General Hospital Research Day Award for Best Abstract. Mackenzie also invested her time teaching junior residents and medical students, serving as the Medical Student Education Chief, and she was recognized for her efforts with the Harvard Medical Student Teaching Award.

In her free time, Mackenzie loves spending time outdoors with her husband Peter, son Finley (“Finn”), and husky named Misha.

Emily Frisch, MD, MA, is originally from Orange, California, and is thrilled to be joining the Stanford REI family! She completed her undergraduate studies at Chapman University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish while developing an early passion for leadership and innovation. She went on to complete a Master’s in Leadership Development at Chapman before attending medical school at the University of California, Irvine.

During medical school, Emily developed a strong interest in technology-driven healthcare, which she depened during her ObGyn residency at Cleveland Clinic. In residency, she served as Administrative Chief Resident and was honored with the Resident Teacher of the Year award. In 2024, she was named the SREI Resident Award winner for Excellence in REI.

Emily’s research interests include artificial intelligence in medicine, wearable technology, and space medicine. She has published her work across multiple disciplines and presented at national meetings, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society, and the Organization for Space Medicine, Engineering, and Design.

She is passionate about exploring how emerging technologies can enhance fertility care and outcomes. Outside of work, Emily enjoys playing pickleball with her husband Param, hiking, traveling, and playing with their cat Mateo. 

Wendy Y. Zhang, MD, is thrilled to be joining the Stanford Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility team. Originally from a small town in China and raised in the Bay Area, she has been part of the Stanford community for over 12 years, completing her undergraduate studies, medical degree, and residency training at Stanford University.

Dr. Zhang's dedication to teaching and research during her training highlights her commitment to advancing knowledge and sharing this with others. She served as Administrative Chief Resident during her OBGYN residency and was recognized with multiple awards for her contributions to teaching and research. Her scholarly work includes over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and she serves as a reviewer for leading journals such as Fertility & Sterility, Human Reproduction, and the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Her research centers upon understanding the impact of fertility treatments on maternal and neonatal health and outcome. With a focus on advancing evidence-based, precision medicine, she is committed to leading research that informs patient counseling and strengthens shared decision-making in reproductive healthcare.

Beyond medicine, she loves exploring new places and foods with her family and friends. Dr. Zhang is truly honored and excited to embark on a career helping others build their families.
