Farm to Table Summer Camp
Our Farm to Table Camp, offered for the 12th summer in collaboration with Santa Clara Unified School District, provides students in kindergarten through 8th grade with engaging and empowering learning experiences on our organic 11-acre suburban farm located in Santa Clara.
Our youngest Chirping Chickadees campers, ages 5 to 7, stimulate their senses and cultivate their curiosity as they explore the garden with taste, touch, and smell. Themed days provide opportunities for hands-on, minds-on nature, science, food, and farm focused activities. Campers discover scale and cycles with exploratory scavenger hunts and garden activities and cultivate a sense of place through art and science. We highlight the importance of diversity through the varied breeds of chickens, fruits, and vegetables that we tend on the farm.
The older Soaring Hawks and Free Flying Falcons campers – ages 8 to 10 and 11 to 14 – gain knowledge and confidence in cooking, growing, and harvesting their own food. We explore the science, technology, and traditions of food as we prepare recipes from around the world and learn to cook.
At the end of each week of camp, we invite families to celebrate with us over handmade fire baked pizza packed with colorful garden veggies that were nurtured, harvested, and prepared by their campers.
