Stanford Health Care, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley

Stanford Health Care has been named among the top 25 hospitals in the country by Practice Greenhealth, a nonprofit organization that guides health care organizations in achieving sustainable practices. “At Stanford Health Care, sustainability is more than an environmental goal, it’s a foundation for efficient and resilient health care,” said Helen Wilmot, senior vice president and chief facilities and sustainability officer. “Stanford Health Care’s recognition as a top 25 hospital is a testament to the commitment and focused work of our colleagues in hospital planning, facilities and operations,” added Fahmida Bangert, executive director of sustainability programs. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford was also named among the top 25 hospitals. “These accolades underscore our commitment to creating a healthier environment for our patients, staff and community,” said Christy Foster, director of sustainability at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. Both Stanford Health Care and Packard Children’s also received four Circles of Excellence Awards for leadership in chemicals, climate, food and green building. Stanford Health Care Redwood City earned an Emerald Award for its comprehensive work and climate resilience. Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley earned the Partner for Change Award for its efforts to improve and expand on programs to eliminate mercury, reduce and recycle waste, source products sustainably, and more.
