The Ernest and Amelia Gallo Family Professor and professor of pediatrics has received the 2025 Lloyd J. Old Award in Cancer Immunology from the American Association for Cancer Research. Mackall, a fellow of the association, is recognized for her contributions to cancer immunotherapy, including enhancing CAR T-cell therapies, defining resistance mechanisms, advancing consensus treatment algorithms and leading groundbreaking clinical trials that have fundamentally shaped the field.
