The D. H. Chen Professor and professor of bioengineering and of psychiatry and behavioral sciences has won the Asan Foundation’s 18th annual Asan Award in Medicine, in the basic medicine category. The Asan Award, Korea’s highest honor in t science, recognizes Deisseroth’s research originality; contributions to medical science; and dedication to advancing medicine, specifically in optogenetics, in Korea and globally. Deisseroth will receive $250,000 and will travel to Korea in March to receive the award.
