The postdoctoral scholar of psychiatry has been named one of the 2024 Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Hanna Gray fellows. Bush is among 25 new fellows who have demonstrated a commitment to making foundational discoveries while building an inclusive culture in academic science. Bush will receive up to $1.5 million over eight years to support her postdoctoral training through a transition to starting an independent lab as a faculty member. Her current focus is studying the basis of sex differences in the connection between sleep dysregulation, drug-seeking behaviors and maladaptive stress responses.
