Take your places, Stanford Medicine graduates

By Michelle Brandt

Graduation for Stanford Medicine MD, PhD, and MS students will be held this Saturday. Check in on social media to follow along.

It's that time of year again: When medical students across the country officially become doctors.

For Stanford Medicine grads, the big moment happens on Saturday, during a diploma ceremony that begins at 1 p.m. on campus.

During the ceremony, the school will award 88 MD degrees, 90 PhD degrees, as well as 77 MS degrees. Dean Lloyd Minor, MD, will deliver welcome remarks; and Paul Berg, PhD, a world-renowned biochemist, Nobel laureate, educator and advocate for scientific freedom, will deliver the keynote address.

We'll be sharing photos of the activities on the school's Instagram all weekend; if you have any to share, be sure to use the hashtags #StanfordMedicine or #Stanford18. And visit Scope again on Monday for more from the day of celebration.
