Jonathan Lamano, MD, PhD
Jonathan was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the southwest suburb of Orland Hills. As an undergraduate at Northwestern University, Jonathan obtained both a B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He continued his education at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine as a member of the Medical Scientist Training Program where he earned a combined M.D./Ph.D. He completed his graduate training under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew T. Parsa and Dr. Orin Bloch where he studied the role of glioblastoma-derived IL-6 on the induction of immunosuppressive myeloid cells. Throughout his training, Jonathan has also been involved in medical device innovation including the development of an intracranial aneurysm model to characterize endovascular coil embolization and the development of a novel neuroendoscope. Outside of neurosurgery, Jonathan enjoys exploring new restaurants and cocktail bars, bouldering, playing golf, watching movies, and following the Formula 1 season.
