Dr. Hayden Gephart promoted to Professor

Melanie Hayden Gephart, MD, MAS, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Neurosurgery effective March 1, 2022. She is the third woman neurosurgeon to achieve Professor ranking at Stanford Neurosurgery. 

"Dr. Hayden Gephart is a dedicated and compassionate neurosurgeon-scientist," said Chair of Neurosurgery, Dr. Michael Lim. "She is an internationally recognized brain tumor surgeon and our Brain Tumor Center has flourished under her leadership."

Dr. Hayden Gephart is a brain tumor neurosurgeon who treats patients with malignant and benign tumors, including gliomas, brain metastases, meningiomas, and vestibular schwannomas. She is Co-Director of Stanford Brain Tumor Center and leads Stanford Brain Metastases Consortium.

She also leads the Gephart Lab, which accelerates translational brain tumor research, combining innovative techniques in genetics and cancer biology with a unique insight into the pressing clinical questions facing patients.
