Vaden Student Health Center
Vaden is the first stop for diagnosis and treatment of illness, injury and ongoing conditions. Other Vaden services include counseling and wellness resources, pharmacy, physical therapy, health insurance including Cardinal Care, Travel Clinic, Confidential Support Team, and Office of Alcohol Policy and Education (OAPE).
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS provides an array of mental health services available to students: clinical services, groups and workshops, and options for care outside of CAPS.

The Bridge Peer Counseling Center
The Bridge Peer Counseling Center is Stanford’s student run peer-counseling center. We offer anonymous 24/7 peer counseling to members of the greater Stanford community. Staffed by trained undergraduate and graduate Stanford students, we are here to listen and support.
The Graduate Life Office (GLO)
Our specialty is helping graduate students. The Graduate Life Office (GLO) can assist with a variety of situations including, but not limited to personal issues, roommate problems. family and health concerns, academic challenges, and financial difficulties. SHARE (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Education)
The SHARE (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Education) Title IX Office is the University’s central resource for redressing and preventing sexual harassment and violence issues experienced by all Stanford community members. Formed in September of 2020, the SHARE Title IX Office brings together in collaboration the teams of the former Title IX, SHPO, and SARA Offices.
School of Medicine Student Center
The fourth floor of the Li Ka Shing Center (LKSC) is open only to School of Medicine graduate and medical students. Featuring a view of the Stanford hills, this area includes a fitness center, entertainment lounge, kitchenette, and study rooms.
Biosciences Wellness Programs
Biosciences graduate trainees face unique challenges to their psychological, emotional, physical, and social health and wellness. The Wellness program seeks to address these challenges through events targeted to the many dimensions of individual and community wellness. Wellness provides curriculum, programs, and support for initiatives that promote self-care, resiliency, and holistic personal health, helping to create an environment in which all graduate students can thrive.
Mental Health Team
The Mental Health Team provides free, accessible mental health care to School of Medicine MD and Biosciences students. To make an appointment, call CAPS Front Desk at 650-723-3785 and request an appointment with an MHT provider.
BioPeers
BioPeers (Biosciences Peer Mentors) provide free and private peer-to-peer support for the Biosciences graduate student community. BioPeers are trained to provide nonjudgmental support through listening, informal counseling techniques, and campus and community referrals.
Biosciences Hardship Program and Biosciences Mental Health Support Program
The Biosciences Hardship Program offers a one-time grant of up to $5,000 per academic year/student household. Examples of potential hardship themes include medical emergencies and ongoing heathcare concerns not supported by other Stanford University support programs.
The Biosciences Mental Health Support Program assists Biosciences PhD students with copays associated with your mental health care.
Stanford Neurodiversity Project
The objectives of the Neurodiversity Project are to: establish a culture that treasures the strengths of neurodiverse individual; empower neurodiverse individuals to build their identity and enhance their long-term skills of daily living throughout the lifespan; attract talented neurodiverse individuals to study and work at Stanford; train talented individuals to work with the neurodiverse population; disseminate the Stanford Neurodiversity Model locally, nationally, and internationally; and maximize the potential of neurodiversity.

Neurosciences IDP Mental Health Committee
The mission of the Neurosciences IDP Mental Health Committee is to:
Facilitate efficient, equitable, and low-cost graduate student access to mental health and mental wellness resources at Stanford.
Support mental wellness, de-stigmatize mental illness, and embrace neurodiversity in our community with panel discussions, enhanced peer and faculty mentorship, and crisis intervention training.
Collate and adapt to student feedback about mental health challenges through annual surveys and liaising with program curriculum and mentorship committees

Neurosciences IDP Mental Health Space
The Conference Room in the Neurosciences Program Office can be used as a mental well-being space. You may block time for rest, quietness, prayers, therapy sessions, and any other mindfulness activity you need in your life. Please see details for use on the Conference Room calendar here.
Neuro Community Sharing Sheet
This is a shared resource where students list what resources or skills they are able to provide advice on including health and wellness resources.
Mental Health Committee Suggestion Box
if you have suggestions for initiatives the Mental Health Committee could pursue or feedback about past events, you may submit them anonymously via the physical box in Homeroom (E165) or this form. Only students on the MH committee will see what is submitted; faculty and staff will not. Neurosciences IDP Mental Health Support Fund
This is a pilot program that provides grant in aid funding to Neurosciences IDP students for mental health costs.
The program and funds are managed by the Financial Aid Office to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Neurosciences IDP faculty and staff will not know who requests or receives funding through the program.
Mental health expenses will be reimbursed to reduce copays to $5 per therapist visit or prescription, up to a maximum of $1300 reimbursement per year.
The Financial Aid Office prefers to receive one request form per student, to cover expenses for the full academic year (past and planned).
