Welcome to the Undergraduate Pre-Renal Initiative

Stanford's Pre-Renal Initiative seeks to develop a thriving research training program in adult and pediatric nephrology and (benign) urology for undergraduate students with varying backgrounds. During the 10-week summer program, students work full-time in the labs of Pre-Renal Faculty Mentors. Throughout the summer, additional programming is provided in the form of renal science seminars, professional development seminars, social events, and career path conversations with faculty, students, and industry professionals. The program ends with an opportunity for participants to present their research experience at the National Institutes of Health. If selected for the program, a stipend for housing and living expenses will be provided as well travel expenses for the NIH presentation at the end of the program.
